Atlanta Housewife Porsha Stewart Talks About Divorce

The last installment of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion aired last night, but that wasn’t the best part of the night.  Later on, Porsha Stewart appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen along with Vivica A. Fox.  This was Porsha’s first time speaking out in an interview since her husband Kordell filed for divorce weeks ago.

During the “RHOA” reunion special, Kordell was the only husband invited to appear on the show that wasn’t there.  Porsha put on a major front and defended her and Kordell’s relationship and said they were doing okay, but she still had things to figure out.  The reunion was taped only one week before Kordell filed the divorce papers, so Porsha admits she was completely blindsided.

Last night in the interview with Andy Cohen Porsha revealed that she learned of the divorce via Twitter and then went in the other room to ask Kordell if what she heard was true.  That’s right, he was there!  They were at home together when she learned of the divorce.

She also revealed that they are still living in their house together.   Read the highlights below:

On learning about the divorce:

“I was laying in the bed and I woke up and tweeted, “Today is the first day of the rest of your life” and I put the phone down and took another nap. I looked back at my phone and my sister was calling me over and over. She said, “Have you heard?” and I’m like “Have you heard what?” so I said, “Let mego back to twitter.”  So I got to Twitter and I saw, “Kordell’s divorcing Porsche.”  So I called her back and I said, “I’m going to ask him about it.” So I went in the other room and I asked my husband if he had filed.”

On if her and Kordell are still living together:

“Yes! I’m from Atlanta, I’m born and raised in Atlanta. I have friends and family so I spend time away, I spend time at home. It’s a difficult situation right now but it’s something that I do not want at all.”

On defending Kordell during the reunion show:

“What you saw at the reunion was a wife trying her last try. When you are married, I feel you should put 150 percent into your marriage no matter what, and if it doesn’t work, you need to be able to walk away and say, “I tried.”  No matter what! It’s not always going to be easy, it’s not going to always be a happy situation but when you have made a vow to that man and the child that you have in your home, you owe him that.  So I feel like at the end of the day, it was just a betrayal that I suffered from but that’s just something I’m going to have to move on with, but at least I know I put in my best, at the end of the day.”

I can’t help but feel sorry for her.  She was dedicated to her marriage and was really doing everything she could to make it work.  However, if both parties aren’t on the same page, it’s useless.  Like she said, as long as she knows she tried, she can walk away feeling she gave it her all.

I wonder what Kordell has to say about all of this…??  Don’t forget, there’s always two sides to every story.
