Melissa Gilbert Engaged To Timothy Busfield

Actress Melissa Gilbert is engaged! According to People magazine, the Dancing With The Stars contestant will be walking down the aisle to marry West Wing star Timothy Busfield.

“They are engaged and both are incredibly happy,” a rep for Gilbert to People. The two got engaged over the holidays, added the source.

Gilbert, mother of two, was previously married to Bo Brinkman and Bruce Boxleitner. She was dating Thierry Gauchet during her time on Dancing With the Stars. Busfield has also been married twice before to actress Radha Delmarter and Jenny Meriwin, and has three children.

“They’ve known each other for quite some time, as their paths have crossed off and on over the past 20 years,” said the source. They celebrated their engagement in Beverly Hills eatery called Mr. Chow on Monday, January 28.

The Little House on the Prairie star admitted that her divorce from Boxleitner after 16 years was a challenge. “It’s been hard on the kids and that’s been bard to watch but ultimately everyone’s going to be fine,” she said during DWTS.

In addition to acting, Busfield is a prolific TV director, with episodes of “Damages”, “Lipstick Jungle”, and “Without a Trace” under his belt. Gilbert is known for her role on The Little House on the Prairie and participated in Dancing With the Stars.
