Producer Timbaland, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, is currently going through a heated court battle with his insurer over a watch that was stolen from him.
The theft happened over two years ago but Timbaland’s insurer has yet to pay the claim he submitted, and now he’s suing the insurance company over the unpaid claim. The lawsuit states that Timbaland paid more than $50,000 to American Home Assurance Co., the defendant, to insure a number of items he owned, including the stolen Jacob & Co.-designed watch, worth roughly $1.8 million.
The suit goes on to say that the watch was stolen from Timbaland’s home in August 2010 and the producer filed a claim shortly after to try and recover some of the money he lost when it was stolen. AHA is fighting the suit and trying to have it moved from the state level to a federal court in Miami. Hopefully this issue can be resolved soon.
