Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds Welcome New Baby Girl

Rosie O’Donnell is now a mommy! The actress took to Twitter to announce the arrival of her daughter Dakota with wife Michelle rounds.

“We r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota – #withloveandthanks – AMEN” she tweeted with a photo of the couple holding the new baby all smiles. The baby was born on January 5 and weighed in at 5 pounds and 5 ounces. Dakota will be the fourth addition to the O’Donnell clan that includes Parker, Chelsea, Blake, and Vivienne, which she had with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter with whom she split from in 2007.

The former talk show host married Michelle Rounds just last June in a private ceremony and made it no secret that the two were looking to add to their family. “She’s trying to get pregnant,” O’Donnell told Dr. Mehmet Oz when she appeared on the show last January, although the baby was received through adoption according to The Huffington Post. Rounds had been seeing fertility doctors, but was not able to conceive.

A new baby is joyous news to the couple that has had a rough year. Rounds was diagnosed with desmoid tumors, a very rare cancer like disease, in May. In August, O’Donnell suffered a severe heart attack and almost died.
