Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj discuss tension on American Idol set

The cast of Fox’s ‘American Idol’ took the stage for a Q&A with the Winter TV Press Tour and finally addressed the drama between judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj this week in Pasadena, California. On the presses mind, was the drama real or was it leaked to boost rating for the show?

When asked how the two were able to put the drama behind them Minaj joked, “I put on my sex tape.” Rumors of a sex tape involving the rapper have been circulating since 2010.

“And there it is,” responded Carey. “The whole thing is convoluted. It’s a distraction from the show and a distraction from the contestants.”

“Every time we try to talk about the contestants, we have to field questions about [this]”, Minaj said.

Carey went on to explain “Time heals all wounds.” To which Minaj concluded, “And we watched me tape… We’re professionals. Have you ever had an argument with someone you work with?”
