Chris Brown attends probation hearing

It was a rather light hearted day in court for notorious bad boy Chris Brown, who attended a routine probation hearing today. His lawyers and the judge traded jokes in the courtroom, during the hearing that marked Brown’s third year in his 5 year probation sentence. It’s hard to believe that it’s been three years already since Brown was arrested for assaulting girlfriend Rihanna and it’s harder to believe that the two are hooking up again. The two have not been keeping their reunion secret in recent months collaborating on Rihanna’s remix for Talk That Talk and appearing together this month at a Jay-Z concert in Brooklyn. Despite rumors that Brown is also hooking up with ex-girlfriend Karreuche Tran on the side, Brown played the gentleman at Rihanna’s Halloween party Wednesday night. According to an eye witness; “His entire entourage made sure that Rihanna was taken care of first and foremost. It’s really sweet the way he was treating her. Every time she stood up, she rubbed his head as if he were a little puppy.”

Brown continues to appear repentant for his past behavior and has been sure to complete all of his community service requirements according to his latest probation report. The judge also revealed that Brown’s probation supervision has been transferred from his home of Richmond, Virginia to Los Angeles. Brown had failed a drug test at the Virginia office, coming up positive for marijuana, but the judge did not mention the incident at the latest hearing. According to Brown’s lawyer the pot was smoked in California, where Brown can smoke legally with his medical marijuana license.

Brown was sentenced for felony assault back in 2009 for his attack on Rihanna and was sentenced to 1,400 hours of “labor-oriented service” as well as 52 weeks of attendance at a domestic violence program. Back in 2011 the judge lifted her “stay away” order that prevented Brown from contacting Rihanna.
