Actress Angelina Jolie is as well known for her humanitarian efforts as she is her acting ability and good looks and she is once again proving that she is all heart by paying a visit to Syrian refugees in Jordan this week. The mother of 5 is part of a special envoy of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees that went to Jordan today to see refugees that fled to the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Mafraq to escape the civil war that is raging in their own country. The mission is attempting to draw global attention to the fate of the refugees and the crisis in Syria. Jolie addressed the Jordanian government in a statement this morning saying “I am grateful to Jordan and the border countries for saving the lives (of those) are dying in Syria. It’s an extraordinary thing. We encourage the international community to support the people here until one day they go back home.” For the past ten years Jolie has made a personal mission of visiting refugee camps for the UNHCR.
