2 Chainz may be one the hottest rappers out at the moment, but that doesn’t mean he’s above the law. The Atlanta rapper was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on his way to perform at a homecoming event at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Thursday.
According to TMZ, 2 Chainz, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was arrested around 10 p.m in Easton on Thursday night after Maryland State Police pulled over a white Ford van he was travelling in with six other people. The cops say that the rapper was in possession of marijuana and arrested him. He was the only person in the van taken into custody.
2 Chainz was taken to a nearby station where he was book, released, and then asked to take a photo by two policeman. “Locked me up and then wanted pictures smh,” tweeted Chainz along with the image of him posed with the officers. He also tweeted that he was only in possession of a grinder and was arrested even after his security told the officers it was his.
The charges currently do not appear in the state’s judiciary case search database. Police state that Epps was released on a citation. The Grammy nominated rapper still made it to perform for the college too! Talk about dedication.
