The Dave Matthews band is doing their part to help out the victims of last month’s hurricane Sandy, pledging $1 million to the recovery effort. The band announced on their website Wednesday that they will be donating all ticket and merchandise sales from their November 30th show at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey to the Bama Works Sandy Relief Fund, which was established at the Community Foundation of New Jersey. The show kicks of the winter tour for the Dave Mathews Band who will be on the road until the tour wraps in Philadelphia on December 22.
Dave Matthews is just one of many celebrities who have been contributing to relief efforts. Last weekend newlyweds Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, along with friend Timbaland, headed out to Rockaway, Queens to hand out relief backpacks and blankets and country crooner, Carrie Underwood, donated all proceeds from her show in Atlantic City to help the people of New Jersey.
