Most of us are familiar with the late 90’s craze known as Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, but few thought that the trend would be making a come back. The idea was that because of Kevin Bacon’s long and diverse career and his appearance with many large ensemble casts that any person in Hollywood could be traced to Kevin Bacon in no more than 6 steps. The game was initially created by a group of college friends and until recently had been relegated to the vault’s of pop culture history. In anticipation of Bacon’s upcoming new series ‘The Following’, the folks at Google have brought the game back to life by creating a “bacon number’ Easter egg on its search page. To try it out all you have to do is type in ‘bacon number’ and the name of any actor or actress. Google will then give you the artist’s bacon number based on how many degrees of separation between that person and Kevin Bacon.
