The infamous Seth Meyers of Saturday Night Live is moving on up and taking over as the host of NBC’s “Late Night” show next year when current host Jimmy Fallon moves to “The Tonight Show,” NBC announced Sunday.

Lorne Michaels, the executive producer over at SNL, will also be executive producing “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” Michaels was named executive producer of “The Tonight Show” as well earlier this year when the network broke the news of Fallon replacing Jay Leno. The show’s start date has yet to be announced, but NBC did say Leno’s exit and Fallon’s debut will coincide with the Winter Olympics coverage in 2014.

All three shows will be shot at NBC’s New York headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Meyers is only the fourth comedian to host the “Late Night” series since it debuted back in 1982, starting with David Letterman and followed by Conan O’Brien and Fallon.

“We think Seth is one of the brightest, most insightful comedy writers and performers of his generation,” NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt said in the official announcement.
