Julianne Moore, the actress who has starred in cult classics like ‘The Big Lebowski” and “Benny and Joon” has reported that $127,000 worth of jewelry has been stolen from her West Village brownstone in New York City. In total ten items were taken, seven of them from Cartier, including a $33,000 platinum diamond tennis bracelet. The award winning actress says that they were taken from her home on 11th street sometime between early June and late August. No arrests have been made in the case so far but police are investigating workers who were doing repairs at the home between those dates. Moore, who was in Toronto working on the remake of the classic Steven King horror movie Carrie for most of the summer, and her husband Bart Freudlich had approximately 15-25 construction workers in and out of their home doing renovations on the brownstone. Police are interviewing all of the men that access to the home over the summer in connection with grand larceny charges.

A would be burglar is charged with breaking into LL Cool J’s home Wednesday morning and is
facing a very long prison sentence if he is convicted due to his prior convictions. Jonathan Kirby, 56, suffered a broken nose, jaw and ribs after breaking into the rappers sherman oaks home according to Los Angeles County District Attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons. Kirby is charged with first degree burglary and this is a third strike for him, which means he could face up to 38 years in prison if convicted. His bail has been set at $1.1 million. Kirby’s previous convictions include voluntary manslaughter in Dallas, Texas, in 1988 as well as auto theft and petty theft. Arraignment is not set yet as the suspect is still in the hospital after the altercation and is being treated for his injuries. The rappers family was sleeping when their home alarm went off at 1:00 am. He was detained by Cool J until the police arrived shortly after.

Not only does rapper turned actor LL Cool J play a special agent on TV but he also fights crime at home. The actor reportedly caught and detained a man who broke into his Studio City home last night. The cops were dispatched around 1 am yesterday when they recieved a 911 call from Cool J’s daughter who told the cops that her father was holding a man who had tripped the alarm and broken into the home. The intruder was found at the home with minor bruises and LL, who stands over 6 feet tall and weighs over 200 lbs, was unharmed. A statement was released to the Daily News saying “As a father, husband and citizen, {LL Cool J} is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating with authorities on this private matter.” LL Cool J, whose real name is James Smith, currently stars on the hit CBS series NCIS Los Angeles.
