The man behind the film “Glengarry Glen Ross” is taking on some new material and has signed on Al Pacino to play the role of the controversial music producer Phil Spector. Playwright David Mamet will write and direct “Phil Spector” an imagined story of the relationship between Spector and the attorney who defended him against the charge of murdering his wife in 2003.

It was an unexpected subject of interest for Mamet who had initially dismissed Spector as a lunatic, but in watching a documentary about the legendary music producer, came to think of him as brilliant and began to question whether he was truly guilty of murder.

Helen Mirren will star alongside Al Pacino as Linda Kenney Baden, the attorney who defended Spector through both of his murder trials.  Spector, changed the world of pop music back in the 1960’s working with acts like the Beatles, Leonard Cohen and the Ronettes, he is currently serving a 19 year prison sentence.

iTunes just premiered a new trailer for the upcoming Sam Raimi film ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’ and the film, set to be released on March 8, 2013, is already generating some serious buzz.

James Franco stars as Oscar Diggs a small-time magician living in Kansas, who dreams of greatness. When his hot-air balloon is caught in a tornado, Diggs finds himself in the land of Oz surrounded by three witches, one of who is played by Mila Kunis. Diggs is told the prophecy of a great man who will save Oz from the wicked witch.

The original trailer, which premiered at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, gives this same premise but the new trailer also gives us a deeper look into story. It reveals that Diggs must undertake the challenge of convincing the inhabitants of Oz that he is the great man that the prophecy has promised. We are also introduced to a flying monkey voiced by actor Zach Braff and a mysterious porcelain doll named China Girl.

America’s favorite lovable loser Charlie Brown and his faithful dog snoopy are headed to the big screen in 2015. The peanuts gang recently celebrated their 62^nd birthday and now the wonderful world of Charles Schulz is being made into a feature length film by Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios. The companies made the announcement today and said that Steve Martino, who directed children’s hit like “Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who” and “Ice Age: Continental Drift,” will be directing the film based on a screenplay written by the son of Charles Schulz, Craig Schulz and his grandson Bryan Schulz. The film has yet to be given a title but is expected to be released Nov. 25^th 2015, also known as the 65^th anniversary of the first appearance of the peanut comic strip and the 50^th anniversary of ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas.’ “We have been working on this project for years,” said Craig Schultz. “We finally felt the time was right and the technology is where we need it to be to create this film.”

As if four of them isn’t enough, Bruce Willis is back for the fifth installment of the Die Hard movie series. The newest movie, titled A Good Day To Die Hard has Bruce Willis, or John McClane if you prefer, taking on bad guys in Russia with the help of his son. If you’ve seen the first four versions of the series, i’m tempted to say you’ve seen them all. Either way this trailer for A Good Day To Die Hard has more explosions and guns than you can shake a stick at. The movie stars Bruce Willis, Jai Courtney and Amaury Nolasco, and is directed by John Moore. Check out the official trailer below and don’t forget to let us know what you think about it.
