Former child star Amanda Bynes has been making headlines for a week now for driving erratically around Hollywood on a suspended license and fellow troubled star Lindsay Lohan took to Twitter yesterday to ask a question that is probably on most of our minds at this point: Why isn’t Bynes in more serious trouble for her reckless behavior. Late Sunday Lohan posted the following tweet “Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?+,” and while some might find the post catty it does raise a real question. Over the last several months Bynes has racked up a DUI and well as two charges of hit and run and then despite having her license suspended spent the weekend joy riding about Los Angeles. Since reports emerged Bynes car has been impounded and she will be headed to court later this month but many friends are starting to worry about the former actress’s mental health.

It appears that once again troubled star Lindsey Lohan has proven herself incapable of staying out of trouble. According to TMZ the actress ran up a $46,350.04 bill at the famous Sunset Strip hotel and the management is not pleased. Lohan’s camp is remaining silent about the tab but according to sources Lohan is telling friends that it is all a misunderstanding. The actress claims that she was under the impression that the producers of her upcoming movie “Liz and Dick” for the Lifetime network were footing the bill and that she was caught completely unaware of the debt. According to TMZ, who obtained a copy of a letter from the hotel, repeated attempts have been made to collect on the bill. They also found an itemized list of charges that included, for her 47 day stay, 49 packs of cigarettes at a cost of $686 and a $3,145.07 bill for the mini-bar.

According to celebrity gossip site TMZ troubled actress Lindsey Lohan is a formal suspect in the robbery last week of the home of Sam Magid where $100,000 worth of jewelry was stolen. The theft was reported after a party that Lohan attended was held at Magid’s Hollywood Hills home. Magid has since recanted his report but police continue their investogation based on the statements of independent witnesses who claim that they saw Lohan and her assistant take the items. Lohan’s father Michael issued a statement claiming that the investigation is a witch hunt against his daughter ” I have evidence, Sam told me that nothing was stolen and Lindsey did nothing the day after the story broke. I have irrefutable proof and witness. No matter what anyone says, I have witness and proof that Sam Magid said nothing was stolen.” Lohan is still on probation from her past runins with the law and could face jail time if she is found in violation of her probation.
