Hulk Hogan is headed back to court. Just months after settling his suit against former friend Bubba the Love Sponge, the Hulk slapped the Laser Spine Institute of Tampa, Fla. With a $50 million lawsuit claiming that the performed unnecessary procedures that prematurely ended his career in the wrestling ring.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, filed papers with the Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court that state “Bollea…missed out on multiple millions of dollars in opportunities to earn income within his profession due to disability because defendants continued to cause him to needlessly suffer severe back pain, leg pain and other related symptoms.”

Attorneys for Bollea say that he was urged by numerous spine surgeons to undergo a spinal operation but instead followed the advice of the LSI and underwent several “minimally invasive” laser treatments that only gave him temporary relief and ultimately only served to aggravate the problems. The center issued a statement confirming the law suit but refused to discuss details of the case.

The similarity was first picked up by Showbiz411’ s Roger Friedman who wrote: “In the middle of the song, Alicia sings a couplet or so from Eddie Holman’s 1970 classic ‘Hey There Lonely Girl.’ That song was written by Leon Carr and Earl Shuman, who are both gone to rock and roll heaven.”
Turns out Friedman was mistaken; Earl Shuman is very much alive and is now seeking compensation for the use of his music. A few days after Friedman’s piece came out Shuman posted a reply thanking him for his expertise, informing him that he was still alive and that he
attention being brought to the copyright infringement.

Don’t believe everything you see on television. According to a former star of the reality television show Storage Wars, many of the items discovered hidden away in storage units are actually planted by the show’s producers to add drama.
The cast member, Dave Hester, files a $2.2 million lawsuit yesterday claiming that he was fired from the show after complaining to A&E executives that the shows producers were committing fraud by stashing the fake finds.
“The truth is that [producers] regularly salt or plant the storage lockers that are the subject of the auctions portrayed on the series with valuable or unusual items to create drama and suspense for the show,” the suit claims.
Hester goes on to say that he was fired by producers just days after meeting with executives from the network to address his concerns about the show. The show continues to maintain that the drama in completely real and not staged.

Representatives for the estate of legendary author J.R.R. Tolkien filed a lawsuit on Monday against the producer’s behind the much anticipated “The Hobbit,” claiming that they have engaged in unauthorized merchandizing.

The $80 million law suit seeks damages for breach of contract and copyright infringement against both Warner Brothers and Saul Zaentz Company. The estate is claiming that the original agreement allowed the production company to produce only “tangible” merchandise not a “online slot machine” or other digital products that the estate is calling highly offensive.

The estate first learned of the slot machine back in 2010 via a spam email and has since sought legal counsel to determine the scope of the merchandising rights agreement that was made back in 1969. According to the complaint: “The original contracting parties thus contemplated a limited grant of the right to sell consumer products of the type regularly merchandised at the time such as figurines, tableware, stationary items, clothing and the like. They did not include any grant of exploitations such as electronic or digital rights, rights in media yet to be devised or other intangibles such as rights in service.”

Kevin Clash officially resigned from Sesame Street today after a new lawsuit was filed, the second in 2 weeks, which accuses him of engaging in a sexual relationship with an underage male.

The new lawsuit was filed by Cecil Singleton, and alleges that the two met back in 1993 when he was only 15 and Clash was 32. The Sesame Workshop issued a statement today saying: “Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding Kevin’s personal life has become a distraction that none of us want, and he has concluded that he can no longer be effective in his job and has resigned from Sesame Street. This is a sad day for Sesame Street.” Reps for the show have already assured fans that Elmo will like on saying that he “is bigger than any one person.”

Earlier this week, Clash’s original accuser Sheldon Stephens accepted a $125,000 settlement to drop his charges but only a day later began express regret at the decision and now maintains that his original story was the truth.

Lady Gaga has lost a few fans at toy company MGA entertainement after allegedly derailing their deal to make a doll in her likeness that would play parts of her music. MGA, who also manufacturers the popular Bratz line of dolls, filed a law suit in New York City yesterday seeking $10 million in damages for the failed venture. The company had apparently paid Lady Gaga’s merchandising company, Bravado International, a $1 million advance and spent a small fortune trying to get the dolls ready to ship by their summer deadline. MGA claims in their lawsuit that the company tried to back out of the part of the deal that would allow the toy makers to use Gaga’s music this spring and tried to get production held until her new album comes out next year. They also claim that the singer failed to sign off on key final designs which could cost the company about $28 million in lost revenue.
