Adam Levine and Usher take us back in time with their new live performance f Stevie Wonder’s classic “Superstition”. Known for his amazing musical talents and abilities, Stevie Wonder is a legend of his own accord and it is amazing to see these younger performers and superstars paying homage. Adam Levine starts out the song strong as Usher chimes in shortly after the opening notes.

The two give us three straight minutes of music excellence and a spectacular performance. There is also a full band and trumpets to ring in the new sounds of the past.

Who would’ve thought that these guys would end up headlining the show, but then again I guess it isn’t too far-fetched. With all of the previous accomplishments and achievements of both Adam and Usher, this was bound to happen. What a great song choice for the duo and hopefully we will hear more new music from them very soon.

Be sure to check out the video below for yourself and be sure to leave your thoughts below in the comments section.

Big Sean, leading up to the release of his new album Hall of Fame, rolls out his new vlog explaining how the rapper’s imagination helped him reach success. His album drops later this year on December 18.

Big Sean debut album, Finally Famous, premiered last year after the mixtape triology of the same name. Sean instantly became one of the hottest rappers in the game and is slowly straying from his role as Kanye West’s sidekick. He intends to prove that with his sophomore album Hall of Fame: Memoirs of a Detroit Player. But, before the release, Big Sean is releasing a number of vlogs telling his story.

The Detroit rapper released the first installment in the vlog series, “Imagination”. The vlog details how his creative mind helped his music direction. He also shares moments of him spending time with the G.O.O.D music crew, Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Trey Songz, and more.

In the first video, the rapper channels Albert Einstein and his stance on imagination stating, “imagination is more important than intelligence “. Sean gives a monologue about belief in dreams and how he’s continued to work hard despite the many people telling him to do something more feasible than rap. Sean takes you on his journey to realizing his dreams through sharing his success along the way.

The rapper released mixtape Detroit in September. The mixtape shared personal experiences from other rappers about their time in Detroit.

The good folks over at VH1 are gearing up to release a Behind The Music episode for king of the south T.I. The episode will air right after his family’s reality show, which has been gaining more viewers with each episode. VH1 will take viewers through every high and low in T.I.’s life, including his numerous stints in prison.

We will also get to see what life was like for T.I., who grew up in the gritty streets of Bankhead and was forced to sell drugs in order to support his family. Seeing the streets as a dead end road T.I. decided to put his proceeds towards studio time and developing a career in music and entertainment, rather than slinging yayo. We’ll also see a long list of characters who were around T.I. before he became the hip-hop superstar he is today.

Check out the trailer for VH1’s Behing The Music: T.I. below:

Fox’s The Cleveland Show went all Illuminati last night on their latest episode, Menance II Secret Society. The episode has Kanye West return as Kenny West, who is a rapping parody of himself. Cleveland has to help protect Kenny West from will.i.am, Nicki Minaj, ?uestlove and Bruno Mars characters, who are all working to derail his career.

Cleveland has to help young Kenny West avoid all their traps while being a member of the Illuminati club. The episode has it’s funny moments but falls short of the expectations put on it by fans, who are used to jokes from Family Guy and American Dad. None the less The Cleveland Show manages to entertain while Kanye West pokes fun of himself and his rise to success. Will.i.am, Nicki Minaj, ?uestlove and Bruno Mars all make good villains and do their best to stop him.

Check out the new episode below and let us know what you think.

Jay-Z has come a long way from being a poor ghetto kid growing up in the infamous Marcy Projects. Jay-Z now owns several lucrative businesses and is well know everywhere he goes. Jay-Z even held a $40,000 a plate fundraiser from President Barack Obama at his 40/40 night club in NYC which was the talk of the town for quite some time. Last night MTV News caught up with Jay-Z at his 40/40 nightclub during the launch of NBA 2K13 and asked him if he would ever consider running for office, to which he replied:

“To be honest with you I think a lot of people are serving their own agendas, so they just argue back and forth and they think about their next term,” he said. “And it’s more about themselves than about the people. They’re servicing the people, but we rarely get anything done because they’re going back and forth with whatever they’re doing, so I’m not really into politics.”

Bathrooms have featured a lot in movies over the years. It seems that we Brit’s can’t get enough of toilet humour – be it silly noises, or malfunctioning toilets that wont flush, or flushing what you shouldn’t down the pan.

Baths also have seen some action over the years, especially in horror movies – it’s the vulnerability of being naked, having a lie down, being wet – all it takes is one live electrical appliance and… POW!

Any over-18’s, American high school end-of-year Prom type of movie simply has to flash some flesh in the girls changing rooms or it wouldn’t pass the grade. The Director has to make it saucy enough to make a generation of 12 to 16 year olds want to steal it off their older brother.

What irritates me about shower scenes is that they all seem to be made of steam – and I’m not complaining about not being able to see anything! It’s just I’ve never had a shower that pumps out that much steam – if it was that hot, the actors would be scalded in no time!

But this piece is about famous shower scenes. Let’s face it, we all do it every day (or at least every other day – hopefully!) In fact, the average British person seconds 82 minutes in the shower every week!

So, here are my top four shower scenes from movies, I hope you agree.

But beware; you might not feel safe under your Triton t802 power shower ever again!

Carrie (1976)

Sissy Spacek starred as the mousy student and the dramatic opening scene is in a shower, where the teenager gets her first period. However, she has no idea what it is and fears for her life, begging classmates to help her – of course, she gains ridicule for this, but also makes a friend out of it.

This friend is the beginning of her troubles though, as Carrie is a “gifted” young girl with special telekinetic powers, and she certainly shows them what she’s made of when she’s humiliated for the final time at the end of year Prom, with horrific results.

Porkys (1982)

This was ground breaking stuff in its day and paved the way for a whole swathe of copycat, practical joke filled movies that were to follow. This high school comedy is about horny high school boys battling through their adolescence, badly. These guys will do anything to get laid.

The boys spend their lives talking about and trying to get to see naked women. So the groundwork was laid for them to embark on the famous scene, where they drill a hole into the wall of the girl’s locker room and get to see many naked ladies all at once in the shower.

A must-see, rite of passage movie for any teenage boy… or grown man for that matter!

Weird Science (1985)

This great 80’s movie included a perfectly cheesy soundtrack, big hair and a couple of nerds. Tackling the themes of class rivalry and geeks that don’t fit in, it follows the story of two outsiders, Gary and Wyatt, who are desperate to be liked.

They figure that if they could create the “perfect woman” on their computer, then they would finally get to be popular. Through a weird freak of nature, the woman, Lisa, does actually materialise, emerging from the bathroom, and invites the boys into their fantasy; a shower with her. Don’t worry; the boys are so petrified they go in with their pants and shoes on.

However, Lisa does put them in other situations in which they must act like men, thus giving them the personal confidence to get over their shyness and inadequacies. Go, Lisa!

Image by Brizzle Born and Bred

Psycho (1960)

This has to be THE most iconic movie scene ever shot. In the film by Alfred Hitchcock, the anticipation and fear levels are pumped up to full volume by his classic film making style, culminating in the scene in which Janet Leigh enters the shower.

Although we don’t actually see the knife, nor the colour of blood, it’s as though you can actually feel the weight of the knife – the imagination is utilised which makes the scene all the more powerful and effective.

Of course, this method has been used to great effect in more recent movies such as The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity, which still scare the life out of me.

Can you think of any other great shower scenes? (And try and keep it clean!)

James Duval is an IT specialist who is addicted to his Xbox. Given the choice, he would rather spend his days roaring around the world on his motorbike seeing the greatest architecture the globe has to offer. He lives for the sound of a great guitar riff, and a well written blog, and writes for Alert Electrical.

You have to have been living under a very large rock not to have heard about the Harry Potter series. Charting the adventures of the eponymous boy wizard as he masters magic and battles the evil Lord Voldemort, both the books and films have proved popular the world over. However, if you ever read or watched any of these you will be all too aware of just how dangerous being a witch or wizard is in the world of Harry Potter. The blur between the world of muggles – that is normal people like you and me – and the so-called wizarding world is often a hazy one, especially as it is specifically said that a lot of muggle technology doesn’t work in Hogwarts and indeed around magic as a whole.

However, when magic is brought into the world of muggles it can cause a lot of trouble. Dangerous trouble. And you know how much some muggles like taking out compensation claims…

So what sort of magically inclined incidents might somebody try and claim for?

Magical creature-related injuries

Much like dangerous dogs, any magical creatures should be kept firmly under control when out and about; even if they’re generally benign you would definitely want to keep an eye on them. Taking your baby hippogriff for a walk is all very well and good, but what if it gets excitable and accidentally mauls someone by jumping up at them?

Spells gone wrong

Whether it’s because they were cast by an inexperienced wizard or pure bad luck (something that wizards can influence, of course), spells going wrong would be a very real danger if the two worlds collided. Spells can achieve an almost limitless amount of different outcomes, so just imagine what would happen if one messed up.

Artifact malfunctions

Much like spells, faulty magical items would be another big and potentially unpredictable liability. Old, broken or badly made, you wouldn’t want some hapless muggle stumbling across an artifact, inadvertently using it then trying to desperately consult a personal injury claim calculator in order to find out how much they could get for having their legs quite literally turned to jelly.

Cultural misunderstandings

For wizards who have not had much contact with muggles and vice versa, any number of seemingly insignificant comments could result in a disagreement and thus perhaps damage – magical or otherwise – to property or even people. Whether this is intentional or not, the injured party is likely to want some kind of recompense.

Jennifer Johnston is a staunch Harry Potter fan, and reckons she would be sorted into Hufflepuff if the wizarding world were real.

Rhino poaching has been on the lips of everyone nationally and internationally. With the help of social media the news has spread and everyone wants to jump in and help. So we wanted to do our part and created a list of Rhino Horn myths, share it and help people get educated about rhino’s and their horns.

Medicinal Myths

The rhino horn is mainly used in China for its “healing properties”, or so they claim. Researchers have found that there are no healing properties found in the rhino horn whatsoever. This doesn’t stop poachers and traders since superstition and tradition override facts and logic, also somewhere someone is making money from it. Since the dawn of time people from all across the world have used strange herbs and ingredients for their ailments because their grandmother’s grandmother used to “eat cricket legs for her headaches”.

Here are some of the ailments the Chinese believe the rhino horn cures:

Devil possession

Clears up phlegm

Removes hallucinations

Protects you from all evil spirits

Feverish colds

Typhoid’s

Clears your vision

Miasmas (unpleasant atmosphere)

Chases bewitching nightmares away

Carbuncles and boils.

Using it continually makes one robust

Headaches

Gelsemium poisoning. (poisonous plants)

For intermittent fevers with delirium.

Expels fear and anxiety

Calms the liver

They also grind it and ash it so that it can be mixed with water, they believe this mix cures:

Overdose of poisonous drugs

Violent vomiting

Melancholia

Lost voice

Food poisoning

Arthritis

The western myth circulating about the rhino’s medicinal properties is that it’s being used as an aphrodisiac by the Chinese.

Interesting facts about the rhino:

The rhino horn structure is the equivalent of a fingernail, it’s basically made from agglutinated hair just like our fingernails.

A pound of rhino horn powder is worth an estimated $45,000 on the black market (2011 stats). The reason why rhino horns are so expensive is that it’s been banned by the most countries and powerful wildlife organisations. Since it’s banned prices have exploded to an all time high because it’s harder to obtain than normally. The more effort it takes the better we say, luckily game rangers and game parks are protecting their rhino and are patrolling their lands frequently for poachers.

When mentioning a group of rhinos you would refer to them as a “crash”.

Rhino’s are pregnant for at least 15-16 months, hopefully that makes you feel a lot better about your pregnancy.

Rhino’s are fairly blind (very poor vision) but they have great hearing and smell, so stay clear and keep quiet.

The horse and zebra are related to the rhino

Rhino’s can run up to 30-40 miles per hour, hopefully you can run faster.

Ruan Smit enjoys helping the environment and the creatures on this great big world. Currently he’s at the Kruger Park camping it out at Skukuza with his laptop and cofee, good times.

The reason why theatres or any other form of industry tend to be clustered in towns or cities must surely be due in part to the old adage of there being ‘strength in numbers’. Different industries have different needs in respect of street lighting; access to public transport, parking space etc. and it is far more viable for city councils to meet the needs of a collective community rather than an isolated incidence. The entertainment industry faces very specific demands if it is to attract and retain the custom of an ever more discerning public and again, these are more easily met from within the framework of a tight-knit community. Together with New York, London’s theatreland is famed for its dramatic and musical offerings and the calibre of the artists who appear in them. As such, a greater burden is placed on all involved to ensure that it does not disappoint its international audience. Being the cultural heart of a great city elicits high expectations and these require big budgets in order to be met. To generate this income the level of excitement, glitz and glamour must remain at a level high enough to sustain the seduction of an increasingly cash-strapped public.

Theatres are places of big billboards, bright lights and an air of excitement and anticipation aimed purely at attracting audiences and London’s famous West End will be expected to excel in this. Tourism plays a significant role in the UK economy and visitors are more likely to spend lavishly than are the general UK public and must therefore to a large extent be pandered to. Having the most renowned theatres and theatre offerings conveniently situated in close proximity to each other allows groups of tourists to attend different shows yet in part, still enjoy an entertaining evening together. A large majority of those attending a theatre production will have planned for a night out which includes dinner and this is another reason for theatres to be clustered. The huge potential for custom inspires great incentive for restaurateurs to establish themselves in such locations and great competitiveness to attract and satisfy the appetites of diners from many diverse cultures. Again, this is a great boost to the economy: a fact that would influence the planning considerations of any city council.
Visiting a district almost exclusively dedicated to theatres is for theatre-lovers the equivalent of children visiting Disneyland: it is another world entirely. The days of the local movie-house or theatre are long gone, never to return. Today’s internet-driven entertainment industry demands competitors who are able to equal or better the allure of the sound and visual effects achieved by technology. In order to survive, theatres must ensure they remain attractive to all generations and to do so they must also ensure that they remain clustered together. As long as their collective billboards continue to entice us and the stars of stage and screen keep the red carpets well-trodden, their fates for the foreseeable future seem secure.

This guide to theatre distribution was written in association with the Leicester Square Box Office, leading Lion King Ticket reseller at 42, Cranbourn Street, London, WC2H 7AN

Acura has come out and released a full apology after the story of how the car company’s casting call people sought an African American actor to play a car dealer who was “not too dark.”

The commercial in question, which featured comedian Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno and aired during the Super Bowl, was cast by an agency that sent out a casting call, looking for a “nice looking, friendly, not too dark” African American actor to play the role of dealer.

Acura released a statement concerning the incident saying: “We apologize to anyone offended by the language on the casting sheet used in the selection of actors for one of our commercials.”

The car company added, “We sought to cast an African-American in a prominent role in the commercial, and we made our selection based on the fact that he was the most talented actor.”

As for the “not too dark,” Acura says, “The casting sheet was only now brought to our attention. We are taking appropriate measures to ensure that such language is not used again in association with any work performed on behalf of our brand.”

Signed, Isidori Mtabo
