The young actor announced on Twitter over the weekend that his role as big brother Elliot Matthews had been cut from the spin off of the popular series, Boy Meets World. “So guys, Disney decided that it wouldn’t work to have an older brother on the show; I won’t be on Girl Meets World. Thank you to everyone.”

Co-star Danielle Fishel responded to the young actor, writing, “Teo, you are an incredible talent and I adore you. You may still call me ‘mom’.” Fishel will reprise her role as the lovable, and quite attractive, Topanga.

A representative from Disney Channel confirmed the news. “Various creative changes are often made as a project transitions from pilot to series,” a rep told TVLine. Girl Meets World would have featured a three children household with Helm as the eldest son.

The series will be set in New York City and will follow the daughter of Cory and Topanga, Riley Matthews, as she goes through middle school. The series is set to air  in 2014.

So artist Christopher Stoll has created a new collection where he re-imagines Disney Princesses as The Avengers.

The series is not yet complete but what he has so far is pretty cool.

Pocahontas as Captain America.

I think this is so fitting. I mean, she’s Native American so she technically she was an American first.

Jasmine as Iron Man

The image is great, that goes without saying but I don’t really get the correlation between the two. Jasmine isn’t anything like him but the painting is great.

Snow White as Hulk

This seems a bit out there unless he’s referring to the Snow White character in Shrek. She definitely seemed to have a bit of an anger issue.

Mulan as Hawkeye

I like this one too but personally I think I would have chosen Meredith from Brave for Hawkeye and given Mulan the Iron Man position. Towards the end of the movie Mulan took on a leadership role much like Iron Man does and I think Meredith is pretty self-explanatory.

The Sultan as Black Widow

Okay so he’s not a princess however this painting cracked me up. I never knew the Sultan had all that under his clothes.

He hasn’t done anything else yet but I am really REALLY hoping he paints Princess Kida as Thor.

Yes, she became a queen at the end of Atlantis so technically she’s not a princess anymore but neither is the Sultan. I can’t think of a better pairing. She is from “another world” and she has control over an energy source, it’s perfect really. She also whops a mean punch.

As the paintings are completed, I will do my best to post them.

One of Disney’s most beloved animated films, Aladdin, is set to become the latest Broadway musical from Disney Theatrical Productions. Thomas Schumacher, president of Disney Theatrical Productions, promised that the new musical will be “a full-length, big song musical with big dance numbers.”

“If I look around Broadway right now, what I want to see is big production numbers. I want to see lush environments. I want surprise,” Schumacher said Friday. “You want a lot of humor, which we will do. And you want heart.”

The Aladdin Broadway musical will be choreographed and directed by Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw, whose previous hit shows include “The Book of Mormon” and “The Drowsy Chaperone.”Bob Crowley will handle designing the set, and Chad Beguelin has been hired on to write the story and some of the lyrics.

The musical will first be shown at Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre this November for nine weeks with a plan to bringing it to Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre in 2014. “Mary Poppins,” which is currently in the 1,797-seat New Amsterdam Theatre, ends its six-year run in March.

The biggest question remaining is how Disney Theatrical Productions plan on handling the shape shifting genie, but they have planned for that too. “I do feel pretty confident in what we’ve done with the genie,” said Schumacher. “When you buy a ticket and sit down in a theater, you want the live experience, not a film recreated.”

Disney Theatrical Productions hope that Aladdin will be a runaway hit like their Lion King Broadway Musical.

It’s been a wild few months for George Lucas. First he sells his beloved Star Wars franchise to Disney and now the director is getting married to him longtime girlfriend and DreamWorks Animation chairwoman Mellody Hobson.

This will be the second marriage for Lucas, who has been dating Hobson since 2006 and the first for his fiancée. Lucas was previously married to Marcia Lou Griffin and the two have an adopted daughter together. Hobson is a successful business woman and aside from her role with DreamWorks she is also a regular contributor to “Good Morning America” and was included on Esquire’s list of “Best and Brightest” back in 2002.

Lucas has decided to donate much of his proceeds from the Star Wars sale to charity including $4 billion to an education foundation. Lucas said at the time of the announcement, “As I start a new chapter in my life, it is gratifying that I have the opportunity to devote more time and resources to philanthropy.”

If you haven’t been following the news about Hurricane Sandy this week, then you’ve probably been following the second biggest story; Disney’s acquisition of George Lucas’ Lucasfilm for $4 billion.

According to Lucas, who discussed the purchase in a YouTube video this week, writers are already getting started on the seventh installment of the Star Wars franchise, which is slated for 2015, with two more films planned to follow.  Lucas explained to fans that he had been considering retiring for some time now and that it seemed like a good time to sell the Lucas dynasty. “Obviously I’ve been talking about retiring for several years now. I wanted to get into sort of another stage of life where I’m not in film business anymore, where I don’t have to run a corporation,” he said. “It occurred to me one day that the perfect person to run the company was Kathy [co-chair for Lucasfilm]. It’s just such a perfect fit, and I felt that I really wanted to put the company somewhere in a larger entity that would protect it. Disney is a huge corporation; they have all kinds of capabilities and facilities. There’s a lot of strength to be gained by this.”

While Lucas will not be involved in any of the upcoming movies, as writer or director, his vision for the series will remain intact, he already has treatments prepared for movies 7, 8 and 9. This deal will not only launch a new Star Wars trilogy in film but will also set into motion a new TV show, games and attractions at Disney theme parks. Over the years Lucas has created some 17,000 characters for his Star Wars universe that inhabit thousands of planets with a history spanning 20,000 years. It is a huge responsibility for his successors to honor the vision that he has created.

In a move that no one saw coming, the Walt Disney Co. announced that they were buying George Lucas’s legendary Lucasfilm Ltd. film company for $4.05 billion. Disney also acquired Lucasfilm’s production comapnies, Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound, in the new deal. The new deal calls for Disney to pay for half the company in cash and the rest in newly issued stock, giving Lucas about about 40 million shares of Walt Disney Co.

Disney already has big plans for the Lucasfilm brand, with talks of three new Star Wars  films already in the works. The new Star Wars trilogy kicks off with Episode 7, the new movie that’s set to be released in 2015. Episode 8 and Episode 9 will be released shortly after. Disney’s Star Wars movies will revisit the story of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia after “Return of the Jedi,” the third film released. George Lucas will serve as a creative consultant for all the new movies.

In an interview posted on YouTube George Lucas, who is sole owner of Lucasfilm, said “I’m doing this so that the films will have a longer life. I get to be a fan now … I sort of look forward to it. It’s a lot more fun actually, than actually having to go out into the mud and snow.” Lucasfilm Ltd. will continue to make San Francisco it’s headquarters, and employees will be able to keep their old jobs and titles. This new deal adds Lucasfilms to Disney’s growing list of brands that include Pixar, the Muppets, Marvel, ESPN and ABC just to name a few.

Kathleen Kennedy, the current co-chairman of Lucasfilm, will become the division’s president at Disney and report to Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn. She will serve as executive producer for the new movies.

Tragedy struck the set of Disney’s next blockbuster ‘Lone Ranger’ starring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer. The studio issued a statement today confirming that a crew member has died after drowning on the movie’s set. “We regretfully confirm that a Lone Ranger crew member has passed away after being taken to a local hospital. Our hearts and thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this time, and our full support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this terrible event.” According to celebrity gossip site TMZ the crew member was a diver who was working in a tank when an accident occurred. 911 one called and when help arrived the man was already in cardiac arrest. The man was later pronounced dead at the hospital by doctors who were unable to resuscitate him. The movie, which is expected to hit theaters next July, is currently filming in Los Angeles, cameras were not rolling at the time of the accident.

On the strength of Disney’s latest blockbuster, Avengers, the companies earnings rose 31 percent, exceeding Wall Street expectations, boosted by higher spending at theme parks and their latest blockbuster. The companies income rose 24 percent to $1.8 billion at the end of the third quarter. “The Avengers” which has already brought in $1.4 billion in worldwide sales helped to boost the company’s third quarter profits to $313 million over $49 million just a year ago. Chief Executive Bob Iger announced the company had signed a deal with “Avengers” director Joss Whedon to write and direct an “Avengers” sequel, and to help develop a Marvel-based TV series for the ABC broadcast network. Disney “showed great momentum across all their business lines,” said Lazard Capital Markets analyst Barton Crockett, who rates Disney a “buy.” “I thought it was a great quarter.”
