Natalie Wood’s death remains one of Hollywood’s greatest mysteries and regardless of a new inquest; it does appear that any light will be shed on the events of the night of her death. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office issued a report today revealing the results of their renewed investigation.

According to their findings, “there were recent bruises to the back of the left thigh. A few day old bruises were on the back of the right thigh and knee but there were fresh bruises and scratches to the right posterior leg.”

Natalie Wood is believed to have accidentally drowned after falling off a yacht back in 1981. Her husband Robert Wagner, who was onboard at the time, claimed that she may have been attempting to retie a dinghy that was banging against the boat and slipped. The death was originally ruled an accident but the case was reopened in August of 2012 and the cause of death was changed to “undetermined.”

One of the best-selling artists of the 1950’s, singer Patti Page passed away yesterday at the age of 85. Page, born Clara Ann Fowler, began her music career in 1948, beating Dorris Day in the charts with her own version of the song “Confess.”

Over the next two decades Page went on to release 15 platinum-selling singles including: “With My Eyes Wide Open, I’m Dreaming,” “Tennessee Waltz,” “Old Cape Cod’ and “Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte.” Despite the rock and roll movement of the 1960’s Page managed to perform well on the charts and experienced renewed popularity in 2000 with the release of “Brand New Tennessee Waltz”  a compilation of her greatest hits featuring duets with country stars like Trisha Yearwood and Emmylou Harris. Throughout her career Patti Page only won one Grammy but is set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award later this year.

Ravi Shankar, the legendary musician who helped introduce Indian music to the west back in the 60’s, passed away yesterday at the age of 92.
Shankar and  his music were extremely influential to musicians like George Harrison and David Crosby and despite some cultural differences, western audiences occasionally had trouble differentiating between tuning and songs, Shankar in many ways illustrated the universal nature of the musical language.
According to a statement on Shankar’s website, the musician died in San Diego, California yesterday with his wife and daughter at his bedside. He had been suffering from an upper respiratory infection and heart problems that had required surgery last week.
Among Ravi Shankar’s many impressive accomplishments throughout his decades long career was the creation of the first rock benefit concert, his 1971, two-night event at Madison Square Garden,Concert for Bangladesh, an event that raised millions of dollars for UNICEF to help Indian refugees.

The world was saddened to say goodbye to veteran actor Larry Hagman late last week but as they say in Hollywood, the show must go on. Production is planned to resume tomorrow on the reboot of the classic television series ‘Dallas’ and produces are planning a special send-of for Hagman’s character J.R. Ewing, a role that he reprised in the new TNT series.

According to a source close to the show, the crew was in the middle of filming the 6^th episode of the series’ second season at the time of Hagman’s passing. It’s unclear whether Hagman completed enough footage to appear in the 6^th episode but he will be featured in at least the first five episodes when season 2 premieres on January 28^th.  In the meantime show writers are working out a storyline that will give Hagman and his beloved role as a conniving oil tycoon a proper send-off.

Fans mourned today for the late Larry Hagman, best known for his portrayal of J.R. Ewing on the classic television show “Dallas.” According to sources the actor passed away around 4:30 p.m. Friday at a Dallas hospital. Hagman had been battling cancer and reportedly died from complications with the disease.

The family issued a statement today saying: “Larry was back in his beloved Dallas, re-enacting the iconic role he loved most. Larry’s family and close friends had joined him in Dallas for the Thanksgiving holiday. When he passed, he was surrounded by loved ones. It was a peaceful passing, just as he had wished for. The family requests privacy at this time.”

Along with his family, former co-stars Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy were also at his side when he passed. “Dallas” had a long successful television run from 1978 to 1991, and Hagman returned to his character, J.R., in 2012 when the series was rebooted. The actor will continue to appear in the first few episodes of next season, since filming was underway at the time of his death.

The entertainment world was shocked yesterday to learn that Johnny Lewis, best known for his work in the first two seasons of ‘Sons of Anarchy’, was found dead outside of his home in Los Feliz, California and is the suspect in the murder of his 81 year old landlord and her cat. A cause of death has yet to be determined for Lewis, but it appears that he may have fallen from the roof of the home. “The best we’re piecing together now is that it appears that some type of altercation occurred inside of the house resulting in the death of the woman, the this individual ran outside, had an altercation with a couple of neighbors, ran back into the house and by the time we got here, he had fallen or had somehow died in the driveway,” the police said in a statement to ABC news. Aside from his role as Half-Sack on Sons of Anarchy Lewis also appeared on ‘The O.C.’ and ‘Criminal Minds.’

Beloved actor and long time star on the soap opera ‘General Hospital’ John Ingle passed away on Saturday at the age of 84. The actor’s family announced his passing on Facebook on Saturday saying “Father, Husband, Grandan, Great Grandan, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Teacher, Inspirer, Mentor: May you soar with the angels. You will forever hold a special place in the deepest corners of our hearts. You were joy, light and love. Goodness at its very best.” Ingle played the role of Edward Quartermaine on over 450 episodes of General Hospital and made his final appearance only last week. The star also payed Mickey Horton on the soap “Days of Our Loves.” Ingle’s acting credits also include roles on the hit show “Life Goes On” and “The Drew Carey Show” as well as playing the school principal in the icon 80’s movie “Heathers.” John Ingle lost his wife of 57 years back in February and is survived by  children as well as 12 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Actor Michael Clarke Duncan and his fiancée Omarosa Manigault were planning on having a family together before he suffered a heart attack in July and passed away early Monday. “She’s absolutely devastated,” Manigault’s spokeswoman Priscilla Clarke said. “They were planning to get married and start a family.” The two met at a Whole Foods about two years ago and were set to wed next year. Duncan, famous for playing the mystical gentle giant in “The Green Mile” was found unresponsive by his fiance around 2 a.m on Monday July 13th. Manigault performed CPR on the hulking 6-foot-5, 325 pound actor until paramedics arrived and rushed him to the hospital. “The Oscar-nominated actor suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered,” Duncan’s publicist said in a statement Monday. “Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time.”

Scott McKenzie, best known for his hit song “San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair), passed away on Saturday in Los Angeles. McKenzie had been suffering from a nervous system disorder called Guillain-Barre syndrome which had required several hospitalizations in the last few years. A statement on his website said “Scott had been very ill recently and passed away in his home after two weeks in hospital.” McKenzie had also suffered a heart attack several weeks ago contributing to his failing health. Aside from the hit song “San Francisco” written by his friend John Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas, McKenzie also found fame penning the song “Kokomo” made famous by the Beach Boys in the late 80’s. McKenzie stayed active in the music business most of his life even touring with The Mamas and the Papas in the 90’s. As an icon of the hippie movement of the summer of love McKenzie’s voice and talent will surely be missed.

Joey Kovar, star of the 2008 season of MTV’s reality show the Real World was found dead today at a friend’s home in his home town of Chicago, Illinois. The aspiring actor  was found bleeding by a female friend who called 911. Emergency responders pronounced Kovar dead at the scene and according to TMZ it is believed that his death was connected to his battle with drug addiction. Fans watched Kovar struggle with drugs during his time on the Real World. Kovar left mid-season to seek help for his addictions later returning to the show only to leave again over fears of suffering a relapse. Kovar also appeared on the VH1 series Celebrity Rehab after suffering another relapse and abusing the drugs cocaine and ecstasy. Family, friends and fans await further news in regards to the tragic end of the young and troubled reality star.
