Radcliffe tells Time Out Magazine that he’s done with “schoolboy stuff” and is focusing his attention on more serious roles after Potter. But when asked about the idea of returning to the Harry Potter franchise, the actor stated, “A cameo as Harry’s dad? That would be perfect!”

In the magazine, Radcliffe also discusses his feelings towards becoming a parent and noted that he looks forward to having children in the future. The actor stated that parenthood gives one a “sense of purpose” and says he will definitely be a parent that “pushes their kids into things”.

The 23-year-old actor has been performing in more risky, adult roles. Among those, he takes on the role of  gay poet Allen Ginsberg in an upcoming movie entitled Kill Your Darling. Radcliffe shared some of his experiences working on the film with Graham Norton, recalling, “I was doing a gay sex scene and the director was giving step-by-step instructions…And the favorite note I have ever had was when we were kissing and the director shouted, ‘Not like that. Crazy sex kissing!'”

Daniel Radcliffe is taking a bold new step in his acting career by taking a role as young gay poet Allen Ginsberg in the Sundance premiere “Kill Your Darlings.”

Radcliffe doesn’t hold anything back in the new role, going fully nude for a sex scene with another man on camera and making out with co-star Dane DeHaan. As if that wasn’t enough, Radcliffe appears in another sex scene with a female library clerk while DeHaan’s character watches.

Just like his Broadway debut, Equus, Radcliffe is hoping his star power from the Harry Potter movies translates into people coming out and checking out the new Kill Your Darlings film.

“I don’t care why people come and see films. If they come and see a film about the beat poets because they saw me in ‘Harry Potter,’ fantastic. That’s a wonderful thing,” Radcliffe said in an interview alongside DeHaan. “I feel like I have an opportunity to capitalize on ‘Potter’ by doing work that might not otherwise get attention. If I can help get a film like this attention, that’s without doubt, that’s a great thing.”

“Kill Your Darlings” director John Krokidas said Radcliffe hurled himself into the role and treated the nudity and gay love scenes as just another part of the job, with no qualms or anxiety.
