For all you Backstreet Boys fans out there wishing you could see what the crew has been up to, I have good news for you. The Backstreet Boys are going to be profiled in their very own documentary.

The Backstreet Boys, made up of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A. J. McLean, and Kevin Richardson, will take part in an upcoming film from famed director Stephen Kijak. The new documentary will trace their rise from unknown band to being international superstars.

The band is equally excited about the news, releasing a statement that said “We always wanted to make a film and now is the ideal time – with Kevin back, the fact that we are masters of our own destiny, a new album in the works and our 20th anniversary all adds up to being the right time to share our story.”

“What drew me to this project is their openness and willingness to push themselves into uncomfortable places, to be vulnerable and honest and to be really trusting of the filmmaking team to steer them in the right direction,” director Kijak said.

“Backstreet Boys – The Movie” is getting a theatrical release and will be done filming sometime this fall.
