It seems that Ashley Judd may be warming to the idea of running for the U.S.Senate in Kentucky in 2014. Judd, who is originally from Kentucky, said in a statement on Friday that she was honored to be considered as a potential candidate: “I cherish Kentucky, heart and soul, and while I’m very honored by the consideration, we have just finished an election, so let’s focus on coming together to keep moving America’s families, and especially our kids, forward.”

Judd currently resides in Tennessee where she is an active member of Tennessee Democrats. If she does decide to run for Senate she would have to return to a home in Kentucky. Judd would be taking on Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, something no democrat has stepped up to do so far.

McConnell is currently serving his fifth term in the senate, making him the longest serving senator in Kentucky history. That combined with the $6.8 million already in his re-election fund makes McConnell a serious competitor in the 2014 election.  The McConnell camp also issued a statement regarding Judd this week saying: “Sen. McConnell and his wife are big fans of Ashley Judd’s movies and appreciate her energy, especially when it comes to bringing young people into the political process.”

Judd has enjoyed an extremely successful acting career, starring in block buster movies like ‘Kiss the Girls,’ ‘Where the Heart is’ and ‘Double Jeopardy.’She is the daughter of country singer Naomi Judd and is married to Indianapolis 500 champ Dario Franchitti. She most recently starred in the television show ‘Missing’ as Rebecca Winstone.

Judd has devoted much of her free time to humanitarian work and acts as a global ambassador for YoutAIDS, a program run by Population Services International. She has narrated three films for the organization and frequently travels to countries like Cambodia, Rwanda and Kenya to work with local youths.

She had a part in Robert Rodriguez’s 2010 feature film Machete. She spent much of 2010 and 2011 entangled in legal issues stemming from probation violations and a necklace theft. In 2012, her supervised probation was lifted and she did further TV work, including starring as Elizabeth Taylor in the TV-movie biography Liz & Dick.

World famous performer Debbie Reynolds has cancelled her next three months of scheduled performances today after an adverse reaction to medication sent her to the hospital in Los Angeles. Reynolds, 80, was rushed to Cedars Sinai after a medication she’s been currently taking caused a serious reaction. A rep for Reynolds spoke with Lifeline Live today and said that “On the advice of her doctors, Reynolds has been forced to cancel appearances and concert engagements for the next three months.” The same rep also said that Miss Reynolds is “doing a little better. She’s out of the hospital. She’s at home now….just needs to take it easy for a while.” The actress and singer has not let her age hold her back in recent years. The star maintains a very busy schedule of concerts and public speaking events. According to a rep Reynolds is still hoping to appear in the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year’s Day. Reynolds has a planned spot aboard the “Follow the Stars, Adopt a Pet” float.

Actress Anne Hathaway, who just recently appeared in the latest installment of the Batman movie franchise, got married this weekend to Adam Shulman. The 29 year old donned a custom made Valentino gown for the ceremony that took place on the coast of California in Big Sur Saturday night. The weekend celebration kicked off Friday afternoon with a rehearsal dinner at the acclaimed Ventana Inn and later moved on to a private estate where 150 guests joined the happy couple for their big day. Hathaway has been dating Shulman, a jewelry designer and actor, for four years and the two got engaged back in November of last year. In February the couple threw an engagement party in New York to introduce all of their friends and family. Hathaway, who will next appear in Les Miserables, told USA Today that “I’m so delighted by [Adam]. He’s all the things you want a partner to be. I so find joy in his presence.
