Lady Gaga was one of the biggest spenders at this weekends “Icons & Idols” auction in Beverly Hills, dropping around $1 million on Michael Jackson memorabilia including several performance costumes.

“The 55 pieces I collected today will be archived & expertly cared ofr in the spirit & love of Michael Jackson, his bravery, & his fans worldwide,” the pop star tweeted, along with a pic of her white-gloved hand holding an auction paddle.

The auction raised over $5 million, some of which will go to Guide Dogs of America and Nathan Adelson Hospice of Las Vegas. Among the items sold were Jackson’s jacket from the Bad tour, which brought in $240,000 and two of Jackson’s crystal encrusted gloves, which sold for $100,000 apiece.

Lady Gaga has always been an ardent fan of the late pop icon and was deeply saddened by his tragic death in 2009. The star later revealed that the tour were planning to collaborate on his This is it tour which was set to kickoff just 18 days after his passing.

Looks like Nas has been negligent in keeping up on his taxes and now both he, and the state of Georgia are hoping for a windfall from his upcoming concert tour.

The Department of Revenue had filed court papers in an attempt to collect the $1,083,435 they claim the rapper owes from 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010 and now they have the green light to take a million dollars from his tour earnings.

The Depart of Revenue has issued an order to Live Nation, the promotion company behind Nas’s tour, to turn over all of the rapper’s earnings until his debt is settled. The tour is expected to bring in a huge amount of money and that’s a good thing considering that Nas also owes millions in unpaid taxes to the federal government. The rappers reps have claimed that the issue has been settled but judging by the latest court actions, the government is still attempting to collect.

The Dave Matthews band is doing their part to help out the victims of last month’s hurricane Sandy, pledging $1 million to the recovery effort. The band announced on their website Wednesday that they will be donating all ticket and merchandise sales from their November 30^th show at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey to the Bama Works Sandy Relief Fund, which was established at the Community Foundation of New Jersey. The show kicks of the winter tour for the Dave Mathews Band who will be on the road until the tour wraps in Philadelphia on December 22.

Dave Matthews is just one of many celebrities who have been contributing to relief efforts. Last weekend newlyweds Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, along with friend Timbaland,  headed out to Rockaway, Queens to hand out relief backpacks and blankets and country crooner, Carrie Underwood, donated all proceeds from her show in Atlantic City to help the people of New Jersey.
