New Action Movie With Keanu Reeves – 47 RONIN

If you haven’t already seen the trailer for 47 Ronin, then you have to, this action packed movie features Matrix star Keanu Reeves and is jam packed with amazing graphics and scenes. Just from watching the trailer I knew I had to see this movie, and I know if you are an action fan then there is no way you won’t want to see this.

Even in the trailer you can see the cast adventuring across far and distant lands and crazy characters that only Hollywood could come up with. We enjoy almost any movie with Keanu in it as he usually only acts in movies that are amazing and this looks like nothing short of that. They have some ancient sword style action that seems to be of Chinese origin and even bows and arrows, horses, and so much more.

The “all-star” cast is a bit of a turn off for most adults given that it’s hard to hear the voices of, Amanda Seyfried, Pitbull, Steven Tyler, Beyonce, Colin Farrell, and Christopher Waltz and imagine the characters as those characters and not the real people. Although Colin Farrel does well as “Leafman,” a leader to the miniature army that is there to protect the forest from evil. Christoph Waltz plays Mandrake who wants all things nature to die. I think most adults will agree that these voices are more distracting rather than fitting. After the first 30 minutes, the silly voice parts of random actors ends and Amanda Seyfried comes in as lead character, Mary Katharine and her scientist dad (Jason Sudeikis) are struggling with the qwarky father’s idea/discovery that tiny forest people may exist. Mary’s mother has recently died, which also makes thing a bit more strained.

Mary Katharine (Amanda Seyfried) gets sucked into this miniature life of little forest people while dealing with the death of her mother and aims to help save the forest. The animation/3D efforts are okay during action scenes. The comedy is a bit flat but it’s not the worst children’s movie to come out, so if you enjoy slightly touching, high-fantasy movies, then you won’t be completely upset while the kids enjoy themselves.

The now. 67 year old actor was in his Spanish villa-like home when his stroke happened. His Tim Curry’s agent, Marcia Hurwitz, was asked for comments by the U.K. newspaper and her responce to the situation was,  “Tim is doing great. He absolutely can speak and is recovering at this time and in great humor.”

Most known as  Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a character in the movie called, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” that the british actor originated back in ’73 and ’74 for the production that both held in London and L.A. The musical “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” put him on the map to stardom. He has many health issues over the years and has even noted health issues as a reason to turn down recent roles to on stage and film jobs.

He grew up in London and was a huge star there over the many years of his acting carreer. His mother Patrica, who was a school teacher and his father was a devoted Methodist chaplin but dies when the actor was just twelve. His mother has also passed after a tumor affected her brain in 2001. Curry graduated from Birmingham University in 1968 and immediately got his first acting role in the musical “Hair,” in 1968. The first ackolegements  award came in 1981 when he was nominated for a Tony for his role in Amadeus. He was also known for his role in the 1987 Me and My Girl. One of his best known stage roles was in Spamalot, playing King Arthur. Some more relevant things that he his known for are his roles in Annie, Charlie’s Angels, and Home Alone 2.

Recent roles include “What About Dick?” with Russell Brand and Tracey Ullman. His voice roles include “The Wild Thornberrys,” “Voltron: The Third Dimension,” “Mighty Ducks” and “Aaahh!!! Real Monsters.”

One of the best ways to enjoy the performing arts is by going to your local theater. There are many of them spread out throughout the entire world as well as the US. We recommend finding something that fits your mood or your groups mood and making an outing of it. You can actually also have food out at many venues such as the phoenix dinner theatre which is really nice and has some specials always available. Keep in mind there are different types of performances ranging from comedy to drama to opera and more. Perhaps you go to a different type of event with your work or business organization than you go to with your wife or family. Basically these offer an entire entertainment experience because they have live sound and visuals of the performances that you get to watch.

We personally like to check out theater experiences in major cities because they attract some of the best talent out there which will obviously make the entire show better. Whether you are going for the beautiful singing or you love the dancing or storyline there is usually something for everybody. Enjoy some fine dining while you sit and enjoy theater, most theaters have very comfortable seating as well so that you can enjoy it while sitting back with the lights off. In fact one of the best things about theater is that it is live and not pre-recorded so you get the full enjoyment of seeing something happening in real time versus something with too many Hollywood additions. Academy Awards producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are planning one of the most spectacular Oscar shows to date, with so many performances planned that they have already run out of rehearsal space and dressing rooms too. The duo promised that the 2013 Academy awards will be packed full of “wow moments,” with Meron saying “I don’t think any Oscars have been as performance-based.”

The production duo has had a long history of putting on big shows, producing 2003’s best picture, “Chicago,” and count TV’s “Smash” and the recent Broadway revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” among their stellar credits.

“When you do an Oscar show, you don’t have a dressing room problem. The presenters don’t get dressing rooms. And how many people perform on the Oscars, like one or two?” Zadan said. “We have a staggering amount of performers, and each of them needs a dressing room… We’re measuring the magnitude of how big the show is by the fact that we don’t have (enough) dressing rooms.”

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron revealed on Monday that Renee Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Queen Latifah and Richard Gere will reunite on the very same stage where the “Chicago” movie won its Oscar. But what they wouldn’t say is what song the cast will perform. “We can’t talk about what they’re going to do!” Zadan said.

Lunkina tells the Russian daily news paper that she asked the Bolshoi theater to allow her to stay in Canada a little longer because she’s scared to come back to Russia. Katerina Novikova, spokeswoman for the Bolshoi ballet, admitted to the Associated Press that they agreed to extend her vacation, but did not say much else after that.

According to Lunkina, the threats were levied towards her because of a conflict between her husband and one of his business partners concerning a movie about Mathilde Kschessinskaya, a ballerina famous for her talent on the stage and her trysts with Russia’s last czar, Nicholas II.

“I think we must seriously respond to the threats,” Lunkina said. “These people have no right to meddle in our private life or my professional activities.”

One of Disney’s most beloved animated films, Aladdin, is set to become the latest Broadway musical from Disney Theatrical Productions. Thomas Schumacher, president of Disney Theatrical Productions, promised that the new musical will be “a full-length, big song musical with big dance numbers.”

“If I look around Broadway right now, what I want to see is big production numbers. I want to see lush environments. I want surprise,” Schumacher said Friday. “You want a lot of humor, which we will do. And you want heart.”

The Aladdin Broadway musical will be choreographed and directed by Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw, whose previous hit shows include “The Book of Mormon” and “The Drowsy Chaperone.”Bob Crowley will handle designing the set, and Chad Beguelin has been hired on to write the story and some of the lyrics.

The musical will first be shown at Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre this November for nine weeks with a plan to bringing it to Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre in 2014. “Mary Poppins,” which is currently in the 1,797-seat New Amsterdam Theatre, ends its six-year run in March.

The biggest question remaining is how Disney Theatrical Productions plan on handling the shape shifting genie, but they have planned for that too. “I do feel pretty confident in what we’ve done with the genie,” said Schumacher. “When you buy a ticket and sit down in a theater, you want the live experience, not a film recreated.”

Disney Theatrical Productions hope that Aladdin will be a runaway hit like their Lion King Broadway Musical.

Bolshoi Ballet Artistic Director Sergei Filin was injured when a masked assailant threw acid at him for what his colleagues believe could be payback for the dancers he selected at the famed Russian company.

The 42-year-old Filin, a former star of the Bolshoi Theater himself, said he was near the gate of his apartment building in central Moscow late Thursday night when a man threw acid on his face. The attacker covered himself up by wearing a hood and either a scarf or mask, so Filin could only see his eyes.

“I got scared and I thought he was going to shoot me,” Filin, his face covered with white bandages, told REN TV. “I turned around to run, but he raced ahead of me.” The vicious attack could leave Filin partially blind.

Anatoly Iksanov, the Bolshoi’s theater general director, believes Filin was attacked because of his job as artistic director.

“He is a man of principle and never compromised,” Iksanov said on Channel One state television. “If he believed that this or that dancer was not ready or was unable to perform this or that part, he would turn them down.” According to Iksanov, Filin knew that someone was out to get him. He said Filin’s tires had been slashed earlier in the week and that he was targeted this month by hackers who posted his professional correspondence online.

Filin, who danced for the Bolshoi from 1989 until 2007, was appointed artistic director of the Bolshoi’s ballet company in March 2011. Before returning to the Bolshoi, he served as artistic director at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theater, Moscow’s second ballet company.

He will be flown to Brussels on Friday to receive treatment at a military hospital that specializes in acid burns.

Michael Strahan makes his debut on another type of field; the Broadway stage. The co-host of “Live with Kelly and Michael” made three short appearances at Wednesday’s matinee of “Elf” that made him have a new found respect for Broadway performers.

“I was surprised at how nervous you get and the adrenaline and that feedback from the audience — it really was an amazing thing,” Strahan said after the show. “To see these performers who do it every day — eight or nine times a week — is really amazing. I take my hat off to them.”

The musical is adapted from the 2003 film starring Will Ferrell about Buddy, a human raised in the North Pole who travels to New York in search of his parents.

Strahan brought the film to light as he played both a police officer and Salvation Army Santa in the first act. He later came out as himself in a scene with the real Santa in the second act.

In preparation for the show, the former football player, rehearsed for an hour in the morning with stage managers and associate director Casey Hushion. At 1 p.m the cast came in early to work with him, including  Jordan Geiber, who plays Buddy, and Beth Leavel, who plays Buddy’s stepmother.

Strahan would not rule out a return to the stage. “I will take it off my bucket list, but if the opportunity came across again, I might just take it up and do it again,” he said.

Broadway, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center all remain dark on Tuesday as Hurricane Sandy, the superstorm, swept through New York. The NY entertainment industry is urging to continue to go on with the show; even if that meant empty stadiums and studios. David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon experienced just that. Both late night talk show hosts taped their shows Monday night, before Hurricane Sandy landed, with some quite laughter-less monologues. Letterman repeated the feat Tuesday, while Fallon brought in a nice crowd to the taping.

Both shows have been careful about audience member’s safety and keeping them out on stormy streets and subways that remain without power. Letterman explains, “just like every night, we pretend the audience isn’t here,” of the empty Ed Sullivan Theater to band leader Paul Schafer. The host ran his monologue from his desk, without bothering to pause for the usual laughs from the crowd. Fallon welcomed back a studio audience after a night of awkard silence on Monday night. Fallon jokes, “first off, thanks to our great audience for making it out to the show tonight …last night’s audience was the worst.”

Another talk show to experience the wrath of Hurricane Sandy was Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel bought his Los Angeles- based “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to Brooklyn to shoot a week’s worth of shows in the Brooklyn Academy of Music on Tuesday night. He canceled the taping of the ABC program’s Monday showing due to the storm. Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” both canceled taping for Tuesday night’s tapings.

The damage brought by the storm has continued to caused the cancellation of film premieres, film and TV production, and even a performance by Bruce Springsteen. The Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band concert scheduled for Tuesday night at the Rochester Blue Cross Arena in upstate New York was postponed until Wednesday due to flight cancellations for many ticket holders. The city also revoked film permits of such shows like “Law & Order: SVU” and “30 Rock”, with many not returning to taping on Tuesday. Films forced to halt production included Darren Aronofsky’s “Noah” and Akiva Godsman’s “Winter’s Tale”.

Morning shows were affected by the storm as well. ABC’s “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “Today Show”, just to name a few, aired live on Tuesday, but GMA had to cancel its planned Wednesday Halloween special. Many daytime shows will resume taping on Wednesday.
