Nicki Minaj says American Idol feud is for real

Nicki Minaj sat down with Jay Leno on The Tonight Show to once again explain that the feud between her and fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey is no publicity stunt. She did explain however that the tension between the two ladies is nothing personal and that she has always respected Carey. “I’m one of her biggest fans in the world,” she said.

Apparently the fights come from the fact that they are both very passionate about their work. “A lot of it starts off like we’re joking, but passionate and both crazy, “she explained. “And then sometimes it just goes, ‘Roar,’ and you can’t really stop it.”

Minaj acknowledged to Leno the fact that she has quite the temper but has been attempting to keep it under control for the past year. Fans are already eagerly awaiting the start of the new American Idol season to see just how well these two divas are able to play nice or if Nicki’s temper will get the better of her.
