Django Unchained Action Figures Discontinued

Django Unchained is the new Quentin Tarantino has been marred in controversy ever since it’s release on Christmas day. Many African American groups have called it offensive towards black people and says it brings up bad memories of the way black people were once treated in this country.

The controversy doesn’t stop at the movie either. The Django Unchained action figures that the studio was planning to released have been cancelled after advocacy groups such as Al Sharpton’s National Action Network and Project Islamic Hope called for a boycott of the figurines.

The Weinstein Company, which financed the film, reached out to the toy company tasked with making the action figures and told them to halt production ASAP. The toy makers agreed and stopped production almost immediately, saying they never meant to offend anyone. The company only made about 1,000 figurines before the stop order came in.
